Flist, I need to pick your brains!!
So, you know that Riddler!Seven 'shop jobbo I did a while back? I said I wanted to give it a more Gotham-y background than the default Brig's garden green-and-pleasantness.

Well, I have been working on that for a while off and on, and I'm happy with how it's coming along. Basically I'm aping one of the Dark Knight ad posters. Only problem is I dunno what to do with the tagline, so I thought I'd throw it out there to y'all to see which position works best. The image quality is much better IRL, I just wanted some quick and dirty pics for the comparison.

High tagline:

Low tagline:

On the one hand the high tagline breaks up the sky, which is good IMO, but at the same time I feel it might be a little strangled by the tall buildings either side. By the same token, the low tagline isn't lacking for space, but I dunno if I should have all the focus on the bottom third of the pic.

So, which do you like best?

Piece isn't finished yet obviously. I've got to actually beat up the car (this image is a 30 second visualisation. The car is currently pristine :p), got to reconstruct Seven's right shoe (the lousy image quality here might make that harder to see), there's also lighting, blending and colouring to sort out as well, and maybe I'll add some other stuff for ambience, but that all depends on the tagline placement really coz I don't wanna over-fill the space.

Put me out of my misery, people!!!

I like the bottom one better. I think making the whole image bottom-heavy is more distinctive.

That is a hard decision to make. But I'm with peet with too many e's - I prefer the bottom one.

And I'm not just saying that because I like to type 'bottom' and then snigger.

Even though I do.

ps HI!

Wow, GMTA--I like the bottom one best too. BTW, this is totally amazing, too. I totally see what you mean about the shoe being problematic, but if anyone can deal with that successfully, it's you. *bows humbly to Photoshop Goddess*

Hi! *waves*. How ya doin?
Zircon: doctor whothisiszircon on July 14th, 2012 12:52 pm (UTC)
Doing fine, thanks.

I forgot to mention that you've done an exceptional job on the graphic. I got carried away with my bottom joke.

Anyway, looks top smart. Very moody and cool.

How's you?

Ah, y'know, keeping busy. Trying to be more active coz my stamina has gone to shit. Combination of mental health weirdness and weight gain due to quitting smoking. But hey, my weight's back down to 'normal' (still waaaaaaaaaay too high. Working on it) and I haven't had a fag in nearly 19 months and don't miss it at all, even when I'm around my sis who still smokes.

Working my way thru the ever-present 'to do' list. Writing is on there somewhere, but at the moment I'm more focussed on visually depicting the ideas in my head.

And I'm helping my mum out where I can. She's still okay pottering around the house, but she needs a wheelchair to get out and about these days. She just bought one that she can self-propel if she feels like it (considering the arthritis is in her shoulders and wrists among other places, it's unlikely :p). Can't wait to have a go on it lol.

My brother-from-another-mother is getting hitched in 3 weeks. They've just adopted a dog. He was languishing at the kennels where his missus works coz the old guy who owned him couldn't look after him anymore and wasin the process of moving in with his daughter who didn't want the dog. He wasn't a good prospect for rehoming coz he's 10 years old and his eyesight's going and his legs are a little creaky. I met him yesterday. He's a big boy, proper dog sized, not like the bundle of mad fluff that is Harley. He's still getting settled and kinda has that 'don't quite know what to do with myself' thing going on, but it doesn't surprise me given he spent 4 months in kennels.

Look at me, rambling on. Anywho, glad everythings spiffy with you and yours. Working on anything writing-wise at the moment?

Excellent going there with the ciggie quitting. I'm off the smoky stuff myself, now - almost two years. (You know. My preferred smoky stuff.) Packed it in when I started getting weird palpitations.

Dogs = good.

As for writing, Nemo's just very kindly helped out with some notes for an original murder mystery I wrote which is due for one more revision before the submissions stage. I'm developing an urban fantasy series which I'm quite excited about. And meanwhile I'm trying to put to bed a couple of long-standing fanfics that I really want to complete, both novel lengths. One Buffy and one Seven/Ace.

So I keepin' busy n this n that. :)

You see much flooding down your way? (And that sounds so rude, and I truly am talking about the weather.) We avoided the worst up here, though my Aunt in Derby got an impromptu paddling pool in her kitchen.

Writing projects sound promising.

No flooding here that I recall. Relatives down south had a bit though.

The top one looks odd to me, like the whole thing is off-center or something.

The second one is much more balanced, compositionally.
ravenskyewalkerravenskyewalker on July 11th, 2012 03:00 am (UTC)
I'll go with the bottom one, also.
Erin Walshdark_pheonix on July 12th, 2012 07:56 am (UTC)
Dear lordy I so wish this was real.

I like the low tagline better, it fits with movie poster composition better.
